In support of Riley Area Development Corporation’s work connecting residents to employment in small businesses and entrepreneurial ventures, the Small Business Administration funded the expansion of Ruckus Makerspace, which provides access to training and employment for low-income individuals while making available tools and resources for startups and existing businesses to grow, ultimately encouraging local production

Using this grant from the Economic Development Administration Former Coke Plant’s Assessment, Reuse and Implementation (ARI) Strategy was created over a twelve month period by multiple local and regional stakeholders to achieve multiple economic and workforce development outcomes, creating jobs and spurring revitalization of surrounding neighborhoods.

In accordance with the Work IndyEast subgoals calling for revitalization of former industrial sites, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded the City of Indianapolis funds to hire a Recovery Coordinator to engage regional stakeholders in projects that would spur area redevelopment and job creation.

This award from the Small Business Administration funded BOI’s REDI program, whereby it partnered with the Department of Corrections, RecycleForce, PEN Products, the John H. Boner Community Center, Martindale Brightwood CDC, New Life Ministries, and PACE to assist disadvantaged and recently released or soon to be released ex-offenders in exploring self-employment as a viable career
