Please join us in welcoming our 2022-23 Economic Development Coordinator VISTA, Kimberly Woolfolk!
Kimberly D. Woolfolk, a native of Indianapolis, IN, currently serves the IndyEast Promise Zone as the Economic Development Coordinator VISTA at John Boner Neighborhood Centers. Kimberly received a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Tourism and Travel from Indiana State University. While at Indiana State University, she successfully obtained a three-year athletic track and field scholarship as a thrower. Kimberly has effectively sustained a 20-year customer relations career, impacting various industries in for-profit, non-profit, and public and private sectors. Along with her 10 years of health care direct care experience and as a licensed massage therapist, she is empathetic to her community’s needs.
She is a vivacious change-maker that has severed the Indianapolis communities for over 3 years as an AmeriCorps member and a two-termed Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA), a national service program. Kimberly’s zest for philanthropic engagement permitted her the opportunity of working with the Operation Afghan Refugees Project at Camp Atterbury National Guard.
Kimberly answered the call to build capacity within various organizations and increase economic activity centered on small business support, community development, and creative infrastructure. Her fervent fight is against poverty by addressing specific issues related to mental and public health, education, the environment, public safety, and low and affordable alternative housing one community at a time.
Kimberly is family-oriented and in her spare time she enjoys traveling with her daughter. She hopes to visit all the United States zoos and aquariums before her 8 year old daughter turns 18 years old.
