Celebrating Entrepreneurship: Meet the 8 Pitch Night Participants

As we prepare for our week-long celebration of Small Business Week, we wanted to take the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the eight businesses from the LISC Microenterprise Navigator Program located at Martindale Brightwood CDC and SEND that will be participating in our 4th and final small business week event: Pitch Night. These participating entrepreneurs will pitch their business ideas for a chance to win up to $3,000.

The Microenterprise Navigator Program specifically targets microenterprises that have historically faced barriers to resources and business services. Pitch Night will give these businesses the opportunity to share their ideas and potentially win money. Here are our eight Pitch Night participants:

Limoncitas Craft LLC – Yesenia Limon & Daughters

Yesenia’s business is family-owned and specializes in the craftsmanship of croquet figures. Each piece is handcrafted with attention to detail and tradition.

Cultural Bike Bites LLC – David Castillo

David’s company focuses on the production and distribution of food. His offerings include fresh juices, fruits, and breakfast items, catering to the local community with quality and freshness.

Indy Welding Navigator LLC – Orlando Vidal

Orlando’s welding company is committed to skill development, aiming to establish a training program for individuals aspiring to become professional welders. His goal is to provide comprehensive training and support, paving the way for careers in the welding industry.

Soap and Shine Solutions LLC – Maria Di Carlo y Stella Sepulveda

Their company is dedicated to the distribution of cleaning products, ensuring a wide range of high-quality supplies for both commercial and residential needs.

For the Bold LLC – Rome Herbert

Rome is a performer who provides music, events, and merchandise.  His goal is to help others move into greatness by overcoming fear and living boldly.  He is a mental health advocate and weaves this aspect into his music and merch. 

Three to Four Dogs – Ronica Owens

Ronica’s business provides healthy dog and cat treats.  She focuses on high-value treats that are baked fresh and taste-tested by her dog Maxx. Ronica has recently been featured in the news and a local magazine. 

Shelbie’s Sweets & Treats – Milika Johnson

Milika and her daughter Shelbie have an ice cream and sweets trailer. They focus on dairy-free soft-serve ice cream and frozen confections, like snow cones and slushies.  Last fall Milika was awarded a facade grant to make upgrades to the trailer for the upcoming season.

Recycled Dope – Courtland Tunstill and Pamela Ford

Courtland and Pamela sell and upcycle vintage clothing and memorabilia.  They also make custom designs, offering tailoring and seamstress services.  In addition, they host pop-up shops and events in the community.
