Harrison Center for the Arts

Arts Projects

Funding from the National Endowment for the Arts will support the Harrison Center’s artist residency program and community offerings. The Harrison Center offers residencies that are immersive, meaning that community engagement is a priority. The organization provides their resident artists with information, research, and personal connections with the neighborhood, especially to the history and long-term residents/businesses. The residents then create celebratory, place-based work that elevates the neighborhood’s story. Funds will allow the organization to provide studio space, housing, tools, and stipends. Additionally, the community will be given opportunities to engage in the work generated by the artist residents.
