Building upon the success of our UBI Pilot Program, the three IEMD neighborhood center partners are now expanding the initiative to create the Guaranteed Basic Income Program (GBI), which will run from August 2025 – March 2028.
A total of five cohorts of 25 participants each will receive $500 a month in unrestricted funds through a debit account in staggered 18-month periods. As in the Pilot, participants will meet frequently with their cohort, as well as with their designated financial counselors. Participants also agree to take part in surveys and evaluations to assess measured goals in employment, education and training, credit scores, and social-emotional well-being.
