A new three-year Green Jobs Workforce Initiative will help 100 residents from Indianapolis’ Near Eastside, Southeast, and Martindale-Brightwood neighborhoods prepare for living-wage careers in the growing green economy. Funded by a $750,000 investment from KeyBank Foundation and led by Southeast Community Services, John Boner Neighborhood Centers, and Edna Martin Christian Center, the program will provide paid training, industry certifications, career placement, and job retention support. Partners including Ivy Tech Community College, RecycleForce, and local construction companies will help connect participants to opportunities in areas such as hazardous materials removal, weatherization, energy efficiency, and environmental remediation.
