NEMA Indy (Near Eastside Merchants Association) is a membership-based network that brings together businesses across Indianapolis’ Near Eastside to foster collaboration, strengthen local commerce, and promote the unique character of the community. By connecting business owners with one another and providing opportunities for networking, marketing, and collective advocacy, NEMA helps create a stronger, more vibrant business district that benefits both entrepreneurs and residents.
As part of the IndyEast Economic Mobility District’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, NEMA plays an important role in supporting small businesses and cultivating an environment where entrepreneurs can succeed. A thriving small business community creates local jobs, attracts investment, and keeps wealth circulating within the neighborhood. Through partnerships, business engagement, and community events such as Fall in Love with the Near East Side, NEMA helps showcase local businesses while strengthening the connections that make the Near Eastside a vibrant place to live, work, and invest.
